Site audit with DataSEO
Illustrative workflow. Inspect URLs and crawl websites to investigate metadata, page status, links and technical checks. Use browser-based analysis only where the selected route and site require it.
How to build a repeatable site audit
A DataSEO site audit collects technical evidence from a website and turns it into a prioritized list of URLs to investigate. Use the On-Page API for crawls and instant page checks; keep crawl scope, collection time and task status with the results.
Define the crawl scope
Start with the website hostname, crawl limits and rendering requirements. Decide whether the audit should cover the entire site or a targeted set of URLs. Keep the same settings when comparing repeated audits.
Inspect indexability and links
Review response status, redirect chains, canonical declarations, robots directives and internal links. An HTTP 200 alone does not prove a page should be indexed. Check whether the rendered page contains the intended content and whether internal links reach the preferred URL.
Prioritize fixes with evidence
Group issues by affected page template and severity. Record the source URL, observed check, collection time and recommended change. Re-crawl after a fix and compare like-for-like observations. A tool score is a diagnostic aid, not a promise of Google rankings.
